Today, I wanted to support my friend Lisa in her essential oil business. I also wanted to learn more about this line of oils as years ago, I used a different line and loved them very much. Lisa is a very generous person, she gave away 2 oils to all of us in attendance and liberally passed around the little brown bottles for us all to try. I was fortunate enough as well to be the subject on the massage table for the aroma touch session she demonstrated to those that wanted to know all about this new to me healing and relaxing therapy. My head is still in aroma heaven!
These therapeutic grade oils have many uses and can be used topically, internally and aromatically to gain your desired results. If you have a headache, use a little peppermint on your temples or the back of your neck. I’ve used a few drops of both peppermint and spearmint in my palms, rubbed together then taken in through the nostrils and rubbed on the back of my neck for a lift if I’m sleepy or having trouble concentrating. Lavender is great for anxiety and allergies and can also be defused in the air as a great help. If you have high blood pressure, you could apply on the bottoms of your feet ylang ylang and/or marjoram and also defuse. Ginger can stimulate weight loss through lipolysis (fat burning) and peppermint can reduce cravings and appetite among other things.
The history of these pungent oils run very deep as they’ve been used around the globe for centuries. Egyptians were among the first to discover the healing properties of this medical alternative and also used them in religious ceremonies. I know that frankincense and myrrh were gifts given to Christ at his birth and other oils such as cinnamon and cassia and rosemary have been shown over and over again to heal the sick. There are actually 188 references to oils in the Bible!
For me, having been involved with alternative medicine and natural health modalities for decades and aside from the other methods I currently use for myself, family and talk about with friends, I’ve decided to again, incorporate essential oils into my daily life.
