Lately, I’ve taken some time to reflect upon the importance of what I do as an insurance professional and the industry in general to gain an even deeper respect for a word many consumers hate to hear: INSURANCE.
As a self-care crusader for many many years, I’ve always looked for the ways and means to do just that…. take care of myself. Financial protection is certainly one of them.
There are many, no tons of motivational speakers and self-help authors touting something as their own – usually that has already been written or said. But, my industry, I believe that there’s only a few that really understand what this insurance business is all about! I’ve come to understand and would like to share my feelings about what I do, how I do it and why.
You tell me what profession solves bigger problems than the ones I can? Who protects the innocent when someone dies prematurely? Who guarantees a worry-free retirement with income they can’t outlive? Who protects their assets if they get sick? And finally, who can provide a legacy when they die? To my knowledge, only an insurance agent can do all of that. Tell me that is not a life of significance.
These are words that I believe describe what I do and help others achieve:
- Peace of Mind
- Obligation to Serve Others
- Living a Life of Much Meaning
When I sit, sometimes for hours, and help my clients connect emotionally to the need for life insurance, I become their advocate. When my clients are gone and unable to speak for themselves, my efforts step in for their beneficiaries, families or even employees.
As an insurance agent, I don’t like to rely on graphs and confusing, complicated quotes. I like to bring me – the real caring person that I am, to the kitchen table. Yes, I am a sales person. As a sales person, it’s my job to educate, show value and bring options to you.
Financial and personal legacy leaving is what I’m in the business of. What’s more important than that? I believe that what I do is one of the most important things in the world. I love serving my clients. I think it’s very powerful and celebrate what I do! I change lives and do it with heart! How do you feel about what you do? Please leave a comment.
